On February 21, girls from NCGS schools will meet with engineers, conduct experiments and tour the labs at Google campuses inMountain View, CA, Seattle/Kirkland andNew York City. The events are part of the " Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day" organized by the National Engineers Week Foundation (www.eweek.org), and each year Google invites girls and young women from a diverse array of schools and organizations to learn how fun, rewarding and world-changing a career in engineering can be.

These schools are leading the way for the implementation of the TRADOC Lifelong Learning Masterplan, a three-year initiative to establish Lifelong Learning Centers across the TRADOC system. These centers will provide new e- learning capabilities to more than 350,000 members of the U.S. Army.

Honeywell expects to install the solar arrays and begin providing the schools with electricity by October 2008. After the 20-year agreement expires, the district can continue purchasing electricity from the company or acquire ownership of the arrays.

More than 600 pieces of artwork were submitted by students from public schools across the city for consideration in this year's exhibition. Every region of the public school system is represented in the exhibition and featured artists range in age from five to nineteen, working individually and in groups.
