Fifteen schools were awarded the grant in 2005, and 17 additional grants are being offered this year. Grant-assisted instructional research that began in 2005 demonstrated a strong relationship between the CPS technology, formative assessment and student success. Research from the grant recipients will be used to make updates to future versions of the CPS and other tools offered to Grades K-12 and higher education institutions.

Founded in 2005, IIE serves all seven schools of the university to advance innovation and entrepreneurial activities in the artistic, social, scientific and commercial arenas. The grant will further the work of the Institute by helping to create a pipeline of future talent that can help propel the community to the next level of technological innovation.

Fulcrum funds provide tuition assistance grants to low-income students, assistance to schools with emergency budgetary needs, and assistance for initiatives that promote academic excellence. Nearly 1,200 guests attended the sold out February 1st dinner hosted at the Seattle Sheraton Hotel.

The Junior Engineering Technology Society (www.jets.org), with the support of the Motorola Foundation's Innovation Generation Grant (www.motorola.com/giving), has provided NCGS member schools with classroom kits packed with learning materials. Among the items: curriculum development tools; DVD's and software; engineering competition invitations; and more.
