Scholarship applications are available at www.CrohnsAndMe.com, an interactive Web site designed to connect people living with Crohn's disease and their supporters and empower them to live fully and be proactive in their care. The application deadline is April 18, 2008 and winners will be notified in July 2008.

Scholarship donors may identify additional requirements for each scholarship award. When the scholarship list is made available after September 15th, it is important to read the details of each scholarship award carefully to insure that you qualify for the award.

Notification letters include the duration and renewal criteria for each scholarship. Applicants are required to accept or reject the scholarship offer within 60 days of notification. Failure to notify MSU will be considered a rejection and the scholarship will be made available to other qualified applicants. General requirements for renewal include successful completion of a minimum of 12 semester hours and achievement of the required minimum GPA (grade point average) for each semester. Specific renewal criteria are indicated in each scholarship category.

When beginning a scholarship search, start at the local level. Listings of community scholarships are often available in high school guidance offices. If you have a special talent in art, music, athletics or a particular academic area, speak with the appropriate teacher or coach about possible scholarships with professional organizations or colleges and universities.

In addition to having its letter published in USA Today, Johnson Controls will present the Carnegie Mellon team with a $10,000 check for the school's scholarship fund. The team ... will receive a $2,500 grant from Johnson Controls and will be invited guests at the 2008 Energy Efficiency Forum in Washington DC. Second and third place teams will receive grants in the amounts or $1,500 and $1,000, respectively.
