Schlage finishes are durable, top quality finishes obtained by the careful processing of solid brass, bronze, stainless steel or other materials. Where required, a protective clear coating is electrostatically applied and cured under high temperature. It is important that climatic conditions and useage be taken under consideration when selecting finishes.

The rising demand for Schlage Recognition Systems' products is indicative of the overall market for biometric access control technologies. The International Biometric Industry Association (IBIA) estimates that sales of biometric hardware will increase from $100 million in 2001 to more than $500 million by 2003. The IBIA cites the Middle East as a market with significant growth potential.
Schlage officials say they continue to upgrade their efforts as technology evolves, such as recent improvements in air sparging. That system injects air beneath the water table to promote evaporation and PCE removal.
