El Corredor, another stallion inbred to Mr. Prospector, has sired a Gr.1 winner from a daughter of DIXIELAND BAND. Scat Daddy should also suit daughters and grand-daughters of such as DANZIG, EL GRAND SENOR, LYPHARD, NUREYEV, SADLER¹S WELLS and VICE REGENT. As STORM CAT headed the general sires' list on two occasions and was champion sire of juveniles six times, breeders may also consider inbreeding to the great Overbrook stallion through Scat Daddy. Mares by Storm Cat's sons, such as FOREST WILDCAT, FORESTRY, GIANT'S CAUSEWAY and STORMY ATLANTIC, produce 4x3 inbreeding to Storm Cat.

In the Fountain of Youth four weeks ago, Scat Daddy beat Stormello by a scant nose in a photo finish. This time, there was no doubt as Scat Daddy won for the fifth time in eight starts for trainer Todd Pletcher, who won five races on the Gulfstream card.

Seemingly beaten at the sixteenth pole, Scat Daddy somehow was able to run down the pacesetting Teuflesberg to win the Grade 2, $150,000 Sanford Stakes at Saratoga. It was 5 1/2 lengths back to War Wolf in third. Trip to the Bank and Bagger Vance completed the order of finish.

Scatuorchio, a retired Wall Street trader from New Jersey, bought Scat Daddy for $250,000 as a yearling. He gave a half-interest to Pletcher and his father, J.J. Pletcher named the horse for Scatuorchio, then sold his share to Tabor.
