Sauron: Dark Lord Sauron
built 274 days ago
The Eye of Sauron as depicted in the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. During the events of Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, the Dark Lord Sauron — the primary antagonist — controlled his minions from within the tower of Barad-dûr in his land of Mordor. He was never physically seen by the main characters... he did sometimes confront them from a distance, and in those cases he was often perceived as an "Eye". The most notable example may be found in The Fellowship of the Ring, the first volume of The Lord of the Rings as originally printed. Frodo Baggins has a vision of the Eye in the Mirror of Galadriel:
Sauron forging the One Ring. In this time Sauron became the Dark Lord of Mordor. He raised Barad-dûr, the Dark Tower, near Mount Doom (where he had forged the One Ring), constructed the Black Gate of Mordor to prevent invasion, and raised massive armies of Orcs, Trolls, and Men, chiefly Easterlings and Southrons. Because of this, towards the end of the Second Age, Sauron assumed the titles of "Lord of the Earth" and "King of Men".

In this expansion one player takes the part of Sauron, the Dark Lord, and plays against the fellowship. Sauron watches over the players' every move and uses the Black Rider figure and special Sauron and Nazgul cards to strike. New resources come to the Hobbits' support.
Used to serve Aule but Melkor turned Sauron evil. After Morgoth was sealed away, Sauron became the Dark Lord. Forged the One Ring but eventually was cast into the void like morgoth was when Gollum fell into Orodruin with the Ring.
