Like most Bomberman games, Saturn Bomberman features a battle mode as well as a story mode. Along with them is a master mode in which the player races to finish a series of levels after which the player is given a rank based on time taken. This time is then saved to memory and kept on a scoreboard for future reference. The game ... features several new powerups.

The Saturn is ... known for its wide selection of Import games. Japan only releases of anime related games such as the Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon and Sakura War games to the great strategy and RPGs like Lunar, Ogre Battle and Shining force helped push the Saturn into the leader of the 32-bit era war between 1995-1997.

The Sega Saturn was released in early 1995 in the United States, and shortly after in Europe. This was ahead of its previously announced release date of 2nd November 1995, and was dubbed 'Saturn-Day' by the video game press. Most people saw this 'rush release' as an attempt to secure some of the market before Sony released its already hyped Playstation, the 32 bit rival to the Sega Saturn.

The Saturn was awesome but Sega’s marketing campaign outside Japan was awful. Don’t forget Shining Force 3, Nights into Dreams, Dragonforce, Guardian Heroes and the ultimate party game of all time Saturn Bomberman with 10 players !
