-Matt Dillon (pictured) failed to win an Oscar last Sunday night for his role in Crash; but that won't stop him from hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend (NBC, 11:30 p.m.). (Wonder if he'll rap?) Dillon's brothers-in-failure, the Arctic Monkeys, may have scored an A- in the pages of EW, but they failed to debut in the Billboard top 20 in their first week on the charts. (They ... failed to make the list of the top-5 American albums of all time. But nonetheless, the kids are all right.)

Two words that rarely go together, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE and FUNNY. But seriously folks, Alec Baldwin aside, this weekend’s SNL had a fantastic Britney Spears divorce sketch. Saturday Night Live in its best moments plays with the once loose format including opening monologues, Weekend Update,or the musical guest overlaps into skits. The Cartoon Playhouse or Funhouse or whatever it's called is the most experimental segment of the last decade or so, which doesn't say a lot about the other elements involved in this production.
