Satanism is an extremely self-centered religion; followers are more interested in what they can get out of it as opposed to any sort of spiritual reason for involvement. Because Satanism is such a self-centered religion it is difficult to make specific statements about the nature of Satanism, beliefs and rituals will vary widely from one group to the next. However, Satanists can be broken down into four central categories:

In Satanism, Satan is an archetype, a representation of certain qualities that the Satanist embodies including rational self-interest, avoidance of oppressive mentalities, the questioning of all, and a perseverance towards success and human potential. Satanism does not specifically forbid the celebration of any holidays or festivals held by other cultures or even other religions. Entirely secular holidays are commonly celebrated by Satanists either for personal reasons or merely as an excuse to have a good time. It is not entirely uncommon for Satanists to even celebrate overtly Christian holidays such as Christmas, though the religious trappings are generally stripped from the holiday, secularizing it. Many Satanists... either transfer such holidays as Christmas to the Winter Solstice and either place a darker spin on it or secularize it entirely, or decline to celebrate such holidays altogether.

As a self-proclaimed authority on everything evil, he began giving weekly lectures at the cost of $2 per person. And ... the Church of Satan was born.

In LaVeyan Satanism the Satanist plays the role of the adversary to spiritual creeds, espousing social Darwinism, hedonism, Randian Objectivism, and atheism. The term LaVeyan Satanist is used by adherents to clarify that they support the ideologies in the writings of Church of Satan founder Anton Szandor LaVey.[4] Careful use of the word, according to one website, refers to a "small religious group that is unrelated to any other faith, and whose members feel free to satisfy their urges responsibly, exhibit kindness to their friends, and attack their enemies."[5]

Satanism is exactly what they claim to hate. According to Jack, the Crusades and the Inquisition are simply things that man does because they're animals- something the satanists celebrate. It's ALL based on self interest, the inquisition is exactly that.
