Satan: Powers
built 291 days ago
During the Dragon Ball Z time period, Mr. Satan is the reigning Tenka'ichi Budôkai Champion, a title won fairly by beating other normal humans in a time when Son Goku and other powerful fighters were not competing. During this time, Mr. Satan became rich and famous, but ... an egomaniac. He boasted endlessly on television about his strength, and that he was the "best fighter in the world." Most fighters who he claims to be his disciples were actually the Z warriors.

Satan, limited and restrained by God, is neither all-powerful nor all-knowing, nor present everywhere. He can do nothing apart from God’s sovereign authority. The biblical book of Job is an example of not only Satan’s terror but ... his limitations and defeat.

Satan is said to have a kingdom (Matt. 12:26) which is not divided against itself. A hierarchy is given in Col 1:16 & Eph 6:12: Thrones, dominions, principalities, powers, rulers, spiritual wickedness. He is the prince (ie., leader) of the power of the air (Eph 2:2).

Satan has no power beyond that granted to him by Allah. Satan's function is to be a means whereby human beings destined for Hell end up in the place appointed for them. Those who follow Satan are unworthy of Allah's Paradise, being morally lower even than animals. Allah reveals this truth in the verses of His Book:

Satan caused the fall of the human race as "the Serpent" (Gen. 3). His judgment was predicted in Eden (vs. 15), and this was accomplished at the cross (John 12:13-33). As created, his power was second only to God (Ezek. 28:11-16).

On the one hand, saying Satan does not exist would mean denying the reality of the evil that plagues human life in this world. That evil is expressed, not so much through sinful choices and actions by human persons, as it is through the human institutions that so often end up creating negative and evil consequences instead of the positive, good consequences envisioned. This perverseness seems to have a will and power of its own which human beings are unable to avoid or overcome.
