Satan was planned to be featured in the 1978 film Godzilla vs. The Devil, a joint production between Toho and UPA. Unfortunately the project never materialized and the Kajiu hasn't been brought up for a screenplay since.

In the tradition of Dragon Ball name puns, Mr. Satan and his family are named after demons/figures from mythology and religion. His daughter's name, Videl, is an anagram of the word devil. His granddaughter, Pan, can ... be taken to mean the figure from Greek mythology (though since her father is Son Gohan, it could just as easily mean "bread"; given Toriyama's love of puns, it could be both).

What Mr. Auster has left out in this discussion is the existence of a personal devil -- Satan -- who, within God's permissive will as seen in Job, does play a role in deceiving the nations. Satan opposes God, and imagines that he can be as God. He is the first and archetypical liberal.

[Y]ou see this chapter has nothing to do with Satan or the Devil. It is a taunting speech directed against the King of Bablygri who was oppressing Jerusalem in the days of the Prophet Isaiah. It may well be that Daniel 4 is the record of the fulfillment of this prophecy.

In Gnostic mythology the Devil was in league with the female principle, who ‘is without foreknowledge, wrathful, double-minded, double-bodied, a virgin above and a viper below’.

Some people conclude that the devil is just a pretend being who symbolizes evil but does not really exist; they view Satan as a myth, legend, or figment of the imagination. Others make a joke of such a being or consider him to be a basically harmless old guy who just has some obnoxious characteristics.
