Sat Test: Students
built 212 days ago
Each section of the SAT test first is given a raw score. For the critical reading section, the mathematics section, and the multiple choice part of the writing section, the raw score is computed in the following manner. One point is given to each correct answer, and one quarter of a point is subtracted for each incorrect multiple choice answer. Zero points are given to incorrect student produced responses in the mathematics section. The raw scores are then converted to scaled scores, which take into account varying degrees of difficulty on different test versions. For the mathematics and critical reading sections, scaled scores range from 200 (low) to 800 (high).
The SAT Test Center at Mt. Carmel is run by the Band Boosters as part of the MCBB fundraising program. MCBB receives an honorarium from the testing company and those parents who volunteer receive a stipend that is credited to their student’s account. The balance of the honorarium goes to the MCBB General Fund.

Buy your SAT Silent Timer today! Often times the SAT is the first timed standardized test students encounter. When you are beginning to learn crucial pacing skills for the first time, it is easy to become overwhelmed or flustered. Practicing ahead of time with real SAT questions will prepare you for the types of questions that appear on the test. But this is only half of the solution - the other part is taking these practice tests WITH A TIMER that is designed to help you learn proper pacing. Unfortunately, it does not matter that you can answer all of the questions correctly if you cannot finish your test on time.

The SAT Subject Tests are all given in one large book on test day. Therefore, it is actually immaterial which tests, and how many, the student signs up for; with the possible exception of the language tests with listening, the student may change his or her mind and take any tests, regardless of his or her initial sign-ups.
The 25-minute essay will always be the first section of the SAT test, and the 10-minute multiple-choice writing section will always be the final section. The rest of the six 25-minute sections may appear in any order, like the two 20-minute sections. Students sitting next to each other in the same testing session could end up with test books having entirely different sections.
