Sarcoidosis can result in abdominal lymphadenopathy. Like any sarcoidosis symptom, lymphadenopathy may flare with Herxing, resulting in enlarged and/or tender lymph nodes. Muscle spasms and cramps often are worse at night. One explanation that was offered for this was an increase in lymphadic edema.

As sarcoidosis advances, the process of fibrosis becomes a serious concern, and this hardening process (similar to scar formation) usually corresponds to the traditional category of blood stasis. In modern efforts to prevent fibrosis, blood-vitalizing herbs are used, and salvia has become the main focus of research (for example, it is proposed as a treatment for liver fibrosis in hepatitis). Salvia, red peony, tien-chi ginseng (sanqi), and rhubarb have been suggested as herbs for alleviating autoimmune and other immune-stimulation disorders and alleviating fibrosis. As sarcoidosis progresses still further, symptoms begin to manifest according to the organs affected. This aspect of the disease is difficult to generalize; treatment would be adjusted to correspond to the symptoms.

Shortness of breath (dyspnea) and a cough that won't go away can be among the first symptoms of sarcoidosis. But sarcoidosis can ... show up suddenly with the appearance of skin rashes. Red bumps (erythema nodosum) on the face, arms, or shins, and inflammation of the eyes are also common symptoms. It is not unusual, however, for sarcoidosis symptoms to be more general. Consumers may go to the doctor for any number of symptoms that sometime occur with sarcoidosis. Shortness of breath and persistent cough send consumers to the doctor's office most often. Other complaints may appear as general as headache, general malaise, dry mouth, weight or hair loss, or visual changes. Other symptoms may interfere with mobility, such as certain neurological conditions (foot and hand neuropathies, muscle weakness, or paralysis). Joint stiffness, fatigue, pain, and seizures may make it difficult to function in daily life. Some consumers experience facial palsy, chest rails, fever, and nosebleed.
