Silverman attracted unwanted media scrutiny with her "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" appearance. Silverman uttered the slur "chink" in her act, which created a relentless firestorm spearheaded by Aoki's Media Action Network for Asian Americans. Though Silverman never officially apologized, she did write a heart-felt letter to Aoki. Though the controversy faded, it left Silverman embittered. Meanwhile, Silverman landed a regular gig as Alison Kaiser on the TV show, "Greg the Bunny" (2001-2002). She ... made more prominent appearances in films: "Evolution" (2001), starring David Duchovny and Julianne Moore; "Heartbreakers" (2001) with Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love Hewitt; and "School of Rock" (2003), in which she played the shrewish girlfriend of Black's doormat roommate (Mike White).

A source tells X17 Brit found out about Sarah Silverman's crappy line about Britney's babies just moments before she took the stage to perform "Gimme More." Needless to say, Britney was PISSED! as any mom would be. Britney was so upset she walked through her performance just to get it over with (despite encouragement from her friends, including Sam who was apparently yelling at Sarah backstage) to skip out on it all together). She held up her end of the bargain and got a major slap in the face from Sarah.
At the 2007 Video Music Awards, Sarah caused a lot of jaws to drop by referring to Britney Spears' two young sons as "adorable little mistakes," among other things. It was reported that Sarah was practicing out loud before the event, but her rep denies this, and in response to why nothing was done to prevent these comments, it was said that nobody knew what Sarah was going to say except Sarah herself. Regardless of whether or not the show will be deemed tune-inable by the male populus, Silverman deserves props for her moments of near genius. Just as a scene seems to be going towards the flatlands, Silverman will go to such another level that one cannot help but laugh. Silverman often does this by breaking into song. Making herself out to be Britney or Celine, she serenades the camera about pooping in her pants or missing her sister while looking angstily into a mirror or strumming a guitar by the ocean. It’s so out of nowhere that you can’t help but laugh out loud.

One of the rumors that came out of the VMA’s concerned Britney’s temporary refusal to go on stage when she realized that Silverman planned on talking about her kids. Silverman didn’t see what the big deal was:
