The Arista recording artist imbues this splendid twelve-song collection—the first holiday album of her multi-platinum career—with peerless interpretive skill and exquisite musicianship. Set for nationwide release on October 17, 2006, Wintersong is Sarah’s first new studio album since Afterglow, released November 2003. Afterglow is certified double platinum for US sales of over two million and has sold more than four million copies worldwide, bringing Sarah’s worldwide career sales to more than 26 million albums.

After giveng birth to her daughter Sarah McLachlan returned to public life and gave a promotional tour to his to her new album Afterglow, full of such wonderful lyrical singles as "Fallen," "Stupid," and "World On Fire." After the years of relative silence the fans still remembered their favourite singer. And again when she decided to make a great tour to promote her new little masterpieces the concert halls were full as the tickets had been all purchased long ago before the show.

Folksy intimacy and quiet, burning passion characterize the music of 3-time Grammy and 8-time Juno Award-winning multi-platinum Arista recording artist Sarah McLachlan, who has sold over 30 million records around the world. These qualities came through with quicksilver grace and clarity on the 1999 release of Mirrorball, the first live recording of her career. It was a unique project in pop annals, in that the first configuration (issued in June '99) was a 14-song, 66-minute CD whose performances were gathered (personally chosen by Sarah, and remastered by her) from the spring 1998 tour in support of her best-selling 8-times platinum breakthrough album, Surfacing, released earlier in 1997.
If Dr. Phil is looking for a theme song, he may want to look to Sarah McLachlan. 'Perfect Girl,' from her 2003 album 'Afterglow,' is like a four-minute therapy session. The illustrious album itself includes a mix of themes -- love found, love lost, social consciousness and even self-deprication. Thrown right in the mix is this slightly uncharacteristic girl-power anthem.

photo "I'm just addicted to mirror balls," Sarah McLachlan says, explaining the title of her new live album, Mirrorball. "There is something about singing under a mirror ball when it's going and the lights are down and that thing's moving on its axis . . ."
