Sara Gilbert: Roles
built 269 days ago
Sara Gilbert has been laying pretty low in her post-Rosanne years. She's appeared on ER a few times and had a great role as a "fanalo" (Barry Manilow fan) on Will & Grace. She played in the creepy queer-themed Poison Ivy with Drew Barrymore in 1992 and Riding in Cars with Boys... with Drew Barrymore.

On the big screen, Gilbert co-starred with Drew Barrymore in the notorious film, “Poison Ivy” (1992) and as well as in “Riding in Cars With Boys” (2001). She ... landed roles in other feature films such as “Light it Up” (1999), “The Big Tease” (1999) and “High Fidelity.” Amidst her busy schedule, she found time to direct the short film “Persona Non Grata” which screened at the Sundance Film Festival in 1998. She continued working in TV, with guest appearances on “The Simpsons” (Fox, 1989-) “Will & Grace” (NBC, 1998-2006) and “Strong Medicine” (Lifetime, 2000-), as well as enjoying regular recurring roles on “24” (FX, 2002-), “The Class”(CBS, 2006-) and “ER” (NBC, 1994-). Gilbert co-starred in the sitcom “Twins” (WB, 2005-2006) for one season and was the creator and director of an unaired ABC sitcom “Even the Losers” (1998).

Gilbert recently returned to her comedic roots on NBC’s hit series WILL & GRACE. She appeared as a diehard Barry Manilow fan, who befriends Will while waiting in line to purchase concert tickets. Her rapport with creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick have lead to her own WB comedy series, TWINS, about fraternal twin sisters who have nothing in common. One thing that is commonly agreed... is that reviewers tend to think that Gilbert is “a genuine talent who seizes the screen no matter the role” (The Hollywood Reporter).

In 2005, Gilbert joined the cast of the WB series Twins, in a role that had been created with her in mind, the brainy, socially awkward half of a pair of fraternal twins. The series was canceled after a single year, but in 2006 Gilbert joined the supporting cast of the CBS series The Class.
