Sara Evans (born February 5, 1971 in New Franklin, Missouri) is a famous country music singer. As this is a medical website, the focus is not on her singing, but medical issues in her life. Many people do not know this, but Sara Evans was struck by a motor vehicle in front of her family home and both of her legs suffered multiple fractures. While recuperating in a wheelchair, she sang to pay her medical bills. Now that’s determination!

Music has always been a part of her life and by age five was singing every weekend in her family's band. When she was sixteen, she began performing at a nightclub near Columbia, Missouri, a gig that lasted two years.

Sara Evans has always had a passion for music and she began singing at an early age with her family’s band. With her family’s support and encouragement she eventually began performing at nightclubs when she was 16. Very popular with her audiences, she continued with the gig near Columbia, Missouri for two years until she decided to move to Nashville, Tennessee in order to further advance her career. She has since released several albums and gained a large amount of popularity with her hit songs "Suds in the Bucket," "Perfect," and “Born To Fly” which hit number one.

Wednesday,September19,2007 – Sara Evans has the number 1 country video at iTunes for her Top 20 single "As If" this week. "As If" is the first single from her upcoming "Greatest Hits" album and was co-written by Evans, Hillary Lindsey and John Shanks. The disc celebrates Evans' 10-year career and will be released on Oct. 9.

The single from the album stood on top of the Billboard and Radio and Record Charts for an two weeks. Evans was nominated for two CMA awards, including the prestigious "Female Vocalist of the Year" and prized "Musical Event of the Year" (the latter in part due to her duet with Brad Paisley, "New Again"). Sara went on the road with Brad Paisley and newcomers Sugarland on Brad's "Time Well Wasted Tour".
