Due to a soggy (to be generous) field at home, this game was moved to the artificial surface at Bellarmine College Prep where Santa Clara defeated Chico State 10-6 to even their record at 2-2. In a constant rainfall, the Wildcats jumped out to an early lead on senior defensemen Matt Ward's extra man tally. SCU tied the game but allowed Chico to go ahead at the end of the first quarter 2-1. Chicoused a balanced offense and extended their lead in the second before the Broncos tallied two to tie the game. Chico took the lead into halftime on senior Tom Hower's fast break goal late in the second.
