Bellingham is the closest to the "Northwest Route", through the San Juans preferred by experienced sailors. It gives them more secluded coves and less crowded anchorage. It is the closest to the Canadian Gulf Islands. Equally as beautiful, but less traveled. It is closest to enchanting Desolation Sound and Princess Louisa Inlet.
