Today's announcement of new San Diego to Mazatlan service follows Frontier's news yesterday that it was beginning service between Cancun (CUN) and Milwaukee (MKE), its 12th U.S. gateway to Mexico. The low-cost carrier ... boasts service to two Canadian destinations and will launch service from its Denver hub to Costa Rica on Nov. 30, 2007. San Diego is one of four California cities that offer Frontier non-stops to Mexico. The other three are Los Angeles, San Jose and Sacramento to Los Cabos (SJD).

SDAR has created the Ambassadors Foundation with the goal of assisting San Diego police officers become homeowners in the communities they serve. In the first phase of the program – “Everyday Heroes” – the foundation will help buy down mortgage loan interest rates for officers.
