In this series, Sakura Wars gets it's start. Told in four episodes, this series tells the story about how the Flower Division is truly formed. Showing the entrance of each of the original six girls and Captain Ohgami, the series follows them as they enter their first battles and deal with learning how to perform on stage as well as with each other offstage.

This may have seemed exciting on paper, but with endless exposition, less than riveting characters and visuals that are only intermittently interesting, "Sakura Wars the Movie" is a bore. The real hero on this project may be whoever decided to keep this turgid beast under 90 minutes. The only apparent reason for the "movie" to exist, based on its origins as a popular video game and short-lived animated television series, is to reach that segment of alienated youth who possess neither a PC nor any other type of interactive gaming device.

The story of the movie is somewhat based on the plot of the most recent game, "Sakura Wars 3," released back in March this year. While the game features Lieutenant Ohgami, the main character who takes off for Paris, narrates one side of the story, the movie unveils the secrets behind Hanagumi. Ohgami leaves for Paris, consequently leaving Hanagumi without a leader; ... a new character will be introduced here. To be replaced with Lieutenant Ohgami is the former leader of Hoshigumi, Rachette Artile - a rationalistic and distinct individual, who brings about serious problems to Hanagumi. The members are now in complete discord with Rachette. Meanwhile, Teikoku Kagekidan was being threatened by some irrelevant demons.

Sakura Taisen Monogatari: Teito Chapter is the second side story for the Sakura Taisen series(... known as Sakura Wars.) The game is is a story driven entry that ditches the series' strategy battles in favor of pure drama. This second Sakura Taisen Monogatari returns the franchise to Tokyo, the setting of the first two titles in the series.

There is an official Sakura Wars shop on the top floor of the Sega "GIGO" Amusement Center, located in Tokyo's Ikebukuro district. Called "Taisho Romando", the store sells only Sakura Taisen-related merchandise, such as costumes, toy models, art books, copies of the games and videos, posters, wall scrolls, and even snack foods. The store was recently upgraded to include the Sakura Cafe, which serves dishes featured and inspired by the setting and characters of Sakura Wars, such as "Coquelicot Coffee", which is served in Vietnamese style that is popular in France.
