Upon his arrival at Saint Joseph's, Amol Bapat, MD, a Saint Joseph's cardiologist examined Ben and decided that another angiogram was necessary to determine the exact course of treatment. "Ben arrived without the first angiogram results so we had to redo the catheterization and determine what the next steps would be," says Dr. Bapat. "With 95 percent blockage of the left anterior descending artery, the best treatment was to implant two stents to support and clear the artery. The procedure on Sunday, September 4th went very well and, after a day or two, Ben was well-enough to go home."
