1. Christminster -- So Jude
   The novel tells the story of Jude Fawley, a village stonemason in the fictional southwest English region of Wessex who yearns to be a scholar at "Christminster", a city modelled on Oxford, England. In his spare time, working for his aunt's bakery, he teaches himself Greek and Latin. Before he can try to enter the university, the naïve Jude is manipulated into marrying a rather coarse and superficial local girl, Arabella Donn, who deserts him within two years. By this time, he had abandoned the classics altogether.
2. Alan Alda -- Father
   Born Alphonso D'Abruzzo in New York City on January 28, 1936, Alan Alda was exposed to show business at an early age. His father was a stage and screen actor and his mother was a former showgirl.
3. Robert Alda -- Father
   Alda began his show business career at age 15, when he performed Abbot-and-Costello-style routines with his dad, actor Robert Alda, at the Hollywood Canteen. Two years later, he made his theatrical debut starring in "Charley's Aunt" in summer stock in Barnesville, Pennsylvania. During his junior year at Fordham University, Alda traveled to Europe, and later acted with his father on stage in "Room Service" in Rome and on television in Amsterdam. After attending the Cleveland Playhouse on a Ford Foundation grant, Alda studied improvisational acting with Paul Sills and continued training at The Compass in Hyannisport, Massachusetts and Second City in Chicago. Though he made his New York stage debut as an understudy in "The Hot Corner" (1956), he became known for his performance as Charlie Cotchipee in the Broadway production of "Purlie Victorious" (1961-62).
4. Judas Iscariot -- New Testament
   One of the clearest implications that Judas Iscariot was more than just a "normal" man deceived by the devil occurs in John 6:70. In John 6:70, the Lord Jesus says Judas is "a devil." Not merely possessed by the devil – but is a devil. There are two Greek words used as "devil" in the New Testament: diabolos and daimonion. The Greek word daimonionis is translated devil or devils in the King James Bible. It is used to describe someone possessed with the devil such as in Matthew 9:32.
5. New Age Movement -- Terms
   Today's so-called New Age movement is by no means "new," On the contrary, it is the culmination of ancient pagan pantheist mysticism which has surfaced periodically since hoary antiquity. Because it has incorporated pantheist-mystic, occult. and ... evolutionist thought from all historical periods, it is thoroughly anti-Christian though ii may sometimes employ Christian terminology. It is a very subtle and treacherous enemy of the biblical Christian faith "once delivered to the saints" (Jude 3.4). ModernIst liberal, Bible-denying pseudo-Christianity is wide open to New Ageism. and New Ageism to it.
6. Oxford Movement
   The specific occasion which marks the beginning of the Oxford Movement was a sermon preached by Keble on July 14, 1833. As an event, “National Apostasy” had the same character as Luther’s nailing of the 95 Theses to the door of the Wittenberg Castle Church. Keble was reacting to an act of the new parliament which, due to the Reform Bill of 1832, was the first to include Dissenters and Roman Catholics. The Irish Temporalities Act suppressed 10 Anglican sees in Ireland, a country with an overwhelmingly Roman Catholic populace decidedly unappreciative of the centuries of subjection it had endured from England. The issue was not the merits of the suppression; indeed, had the C of E decided to consolidate its own dioceses there is little likelihood that Keble or anyone else would have reacted strongly. The dioceses were, in fact, superfluous.
7. Vanna White -- Fortune
   Vanna White is a game show icon. She began her career on Wheel of Fortune in 1982, and since then has become a household name. Her fans multiply year after year as she tackles other projects such as creating her own line of Lion Brand yarn, writing books, and most importantly, being a mom.
8. Danny Thomas -- Giving
   Danny Thomas is a singer songwriter currently working on his second CD. Frozen In Time is a compilation of ten years of some of his best songs. His influences are: Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Kenny Rogers, Jerry Garcia, John Denver, Don Henley and The Beatles. A must-have for the acoustic collector.
9. Danny Thomas
   B[Y] 1945, Danny Thomas’ career as an entertainer was beginning to flourish. Recalling the pleas to St. Jude and his pledge to build a shrine, Thomas sought advice from an old friend, Samuel Cardinal Stritch of Chicago, who led him to Memphis attorney Edward F. Barry. Out of their discussions came the commitment to build a research hospital for children and to locate it in Memphis. In 1985, Danny was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor, the highest civilian award. He was ... presented the American flag that flew over the White House on that day.
10. Danny Thomas -- Make Room
    Danny Thomas never lost touch with his Lebanese roots. In fact, twice, in 1962, and 1974, he made trips to Lebanon. In his autobiography, Make Room for Danny, he described his first trip to Lebanon.
