Sailor Moon

Strictly speaking, Sailor Moon is an anime metaseries. It consists of five separate series averaging around 40 episodes each, often referred to as seasons by North American fans because of the over-arching storyline. Each series roughly corresponds to one of the five major story arcs of the manga, following the same general storyline and including most of the same characters. There were ... three theatrically-released movies, as well as four special animated shorts. The series saw many adaptations into other languages, but not all episodes were always included, such as with the English-language releases.

In the present timeline, Luna finally found Serena, and gave her the knowledge and power to become Sailor Moon again, because the Negaverse was attacking. She met Darien, whom she hated until shortly before she found out that he was Tuxedo Mask, her hero. Then she ... found out that they were in love during the SIlver Millennium soon after he was brainwashed by Queen Beryl. Eventually, Sailor Moon destroyed Queen Beryl with the help of the other Sailor Scouts.

By the end of R, Sailor Moon had become such a huge hit, and nobody wanted it to end. Fans and producers alike wanted more adventures. So then came Sailor Moon S, which introduced the "Outer Senshi", as well as more villains for her and her friends to fight. While still fun, it was starting to deviate from the story of Usagi, and focused more on the weekly villain. It was starting to stretch itself too thin. SuperS tried to set up a continuation of the heritage based, not on Usagi, but her future daughter, Chibi-Usa (Little Usagi), but it fell quickly into the formula of magical girl show as previously known.

After defeating the Negaverse and Queen Beryl, she lost all of her memories of being Sailor Moon and didn't remember until Alan and Ann attacked and Luna restored her memories. She then battled the aliens (Alan and Ann) and their cardians, before facing off against Rubius and the Negamoon. At the same time as the new Negamoon threat, Rini appeared and Darien shortly broke up with her. After healing Rubius's four henchgirls from the future, Serena found out from Rini that she had seen the Sailor Scouts transform.

Creation of the Sailor Moon manga was preceded by another, Codename: Sailor V, which centered around just one Sailor Senshi. Takeuchi devised the idea when she wanted to create a cute series about girls in outer space, and her editor asked her to put them in sailor fuku.[1] When Sailor V was proposed for adaptation into an anime, the concept was modified so that Sailor V herself became only one member of a team. The resulting manga series was a fusion of the popular magical girl and sentai genres of which Takeuchi was a fan,[2] making Sailor Moon one of the first series ever to combine the two.

Due to the well-established popularity of the Sailor Moon franchise, this story arc was immediately adapted into the third series of the anime by Toei Animation. It is 38 episodes long, covering episodes 90 through 127. It was not dubbed into English until 2000, three years after the last episodes of the previous series. By this time, the license had gone to
