built 278 days ago
With many bands announcing reformation, rumors are rife that now S Club 7 is considering to do the same. Member Rachel Stevens who launched a solo career after the group disbanded in 2003 won't rule out that a reunion may happen in near future.

S Club 7 are better than other teen-oriented, dancing popsters such as Spice Girls or Backstreet Boys for two reasons. First, there are seven of them, and that beats four Spice Girls or five Backstreet Boys hands down -- it's basic arithmetic. Secondly, S Club 7 have both guys and girls in the group, which is better than just guys or just girls. Other than that, it's all the same, really.

S-Club is one of England's contributions to the teen pop revival of the late '90s. Originally called S Club 7, the band was originally formed with seven members in 1999. Packaged by Simon Fuller, the group was comprised of Rachel Stevens, Paul Cattermole, Jo O'Meara, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, and Hannah Spearritt. They veered from the boy-band formula by having both male and female performers, but their goal was the same: record bubblegum songs that appeal to kids and have a slick look that is simultaneously attractive to young teens and inoffensive to their parents. The group debuted with its own BBC TV show and immediately struck gold with its first single, Bring It All Back, which shot to number one in Britain. It began a string of ten consecutive Top Ten hits in the U.K. The band's initial three albums were hugely successful; ... their fourth, 2002's Seeing Double, was the first one not to debut in the Top Ten. Cattermole left the group to return to his old metal band, Skua.

The British 7 piece teen band S Club 7 was created in 1999 by former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller. They were Bradley McIntosh, Hannah Spearritt, Jon Lee, Jo O'Meara, Paul Cattermole, Rachel Stevens, and Tina Barrett.Apart from recording 11 UK Top 5 singles, including 3 #1s, and the US Top Ten hit "Never Had a Dream Come True," they ... starred in a series of BBC sitcoms. These were Miami 7, LA 7, Hollywood 7 and Viva S Club and they featured the band as an aspiring group living in various American (and for the last series Spanish) locations trying to become famous. The group disbanded in 2003.

Rachel Stevens has perhaps carved the most successful solo career out of all the former S Club 7 members. Less than a month after the group disbanded, Rachel signed a £1 million record contract with Polydor Records and re-signed with Simon Fuller.[86] Her first single, "Sweet Dreams My LA Ex", was released on September 15, 2003 and reached #2 in the UK.[87] Her first studio album, Funky Dory was released on September 29, 2003 and reached #9.[88] Rachel went on to release six more UK singles and a second album, which only reached #28 in the charts.[89] She has released no new material since 2005. More recently, Rachel has expressed an interest in launching an acting career[90] after briefly appearing in Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo and Spider-Plant Man for the Comic Relief 2005 campaign.
