An advert for budget airline Ryanair has been banned by the UK's advertising watchdog after it made misleading and unfair comparisons with online travel agent Lastminute.com. The advert broke rules on truthfulness and comparative advertising.

Ryanair ... announced that it will order 225 sets of blended winglets for its 737-800 fleet. The winglets, developed by Seattle-based Aviation Partners, are sold as part of a joint venture with Boeing. Attached to the end of the wings, they improve the 737's performance, including fuel burn. That means cost savings for airlines.

In May, Ryanair launched BING[16]. This application brings daily fare specials to the user's computer. The tool is extremely similar to Southwest's DING[17], and the frequently asked question section appears to have been plagiarized from Southwest's website.
