The website of Ryanair will go offline for three days in February in order to update all of their prices to display the total cost including taxes and additional charges. The update is mandatory following instruction from the Office of Fair Trading (OFT), who are growing increasingly disappointed that their January deadline for the price changes has not been met.

On 13 June 2005, Ryanair confirmed a $286 million order for 5 Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which is a conversion of five existing options from an order in 2002. The newly ordered aircraft will be delivered in spring 2007 (ref: Air International, July 2005). ryanair received their 100th boeing 737 in march 2006[28]

Perhaps the Ryanair debacle is 'unfinished'. Perhaps the defeat is reversible. But only by a new approach. This defeat was wholly predictable and avoidable. It stems directly from the conscious abandonment by the SIPTU leadership of old trade unionism, of struggle.

At the end of a 1991, a year in which Ryanair recorded its first profit ever (£293,000), P.J. McGoldrick resigned as chief executive. By this stage Michael O'Leary had been appointed Chief Financial Officer, and Tony Ryan appointed Paddy Murphy as chief executive. Murphy lasted six weeks and in December 1991 Conor Hayes was appointed chief executive of Ryanair. Michael O'Leary wanted out, but agreed with Tony Ryan to stay on in return for himself getting 25% of any profit Ryanair made above £2m (which shows that Tony Ryan had little concept of how profitable Ryanair could become).

The new Ryanair policy means that the website's front page quotes prices now include required government charges. But they do not include potentially optional charges, such as Ryanair's fees for using credit or debit cards, checking luggage or advance check-in.
