Since his divorce, Ryan Phillippe has been going for the gruff and scrubby look. But it appears that it is probably due to his vomit and cry routine since Reese kicked him to the curb. He told “Man About Town,” a new British mag, that he simply wanted to curl up and die.

Ryan Phillippe played Billy Douglas on the soap opera One Life to Live, a role usually described with the lengthy honorific of "the first gay teenage character on American daytime TV." Slender and handsome, with copious blonde curls, Phillippe moved to the big screen, landing a co-starring role in the horror flick I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997, with Jennifer Love Hewitt) and then bigger starring roles in 54 (1998, with Neve Campbell), the teenage sex intrigue Cruel Intentions (1999, with Reese Witherspoon), and the gritty The Way of the Gun (2000, with Benicio del Toro). In 2005 he played a troubled Los Angeles cop in the racially-charged drama Crash (with Don Cheadle and Sandra Bullock).

Ryan Phillippe first gained attention for his groundbreaking role as daytime television’s first openly gay male teen on "One Life to Live" (ABC, 1968- ). By the end of the 1990s, he had become one of the hottest stars on the 20-something radar. Teen-oriented hits like “I Know What You Did Last Summer” (1997) and “Cruel Intentions” (1999) gave the chiseled blond actor instant box office cred, but the actor wisely tempered the multiplex hits with strong performances in smart fare like “Gosford Park” (2001), “The Way of the Gun” (2000), and “Igby Goes Down” (2002), assuring himself a wider range of opportunities and a promising future. It did not hurt his profile that following the shooting of “Cruel Intentions,” Phillippe fell in love with his co-star, Reese Witherspoon, whose star rose during their long-term – for Hollywood, anyway – seemingly happy marriage.

Publicists for Australian actress Abbie Cornish are refuting reports that their client is the secret reason behind Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe’s shock split. Articles running in this week’s tabloids claim Witherspoon decided to end her marriage to the star, 32, after learning he had romanced Cornish on the set of their new movie "Stop Loss" in Texas. The reports go so far as to suggest that Witherspoon, 30, found out about her husband’s alleged romance with Cornish after reading a saucy note on his BlackBerry communication device. But Cornish, 24, insists the reports are all false. In a statement, released yesterday, her publicist writes, "It’s not true. They are co-stars and that is it."
