Wallace says the Iowa Speedway has a number of unique qualities including the fact it is the only 7/8ths mile track in the country. He says it will be a great track to test on as well as race. He says cup cars and test on the track. Wallace hopes much of the testing by Nextel Cup teams will be open to the public. He says unless the people who rent the track request a closed track, he'll try to bring fans out to see the testing.

Wallace ran a fast lap of 118.234 mph in the #66 HomeLife Communities Dodge. #38-Jason Leffler, #11-Jason Keller, #42-Dario Franchitti and #88-Brad Keselowski rounded out the top 5 of the 49 cars practicing for Saturday’s Sam’s Town 250. The #52 Jimmy Means Ford, driven by Chris Lawson, was the slowest (109.148 mph).
