Rurouni Kenshin 1 'Legendary Swordsman' Rurouni Kenshin is a wanderer, a lost soul, cursed to seek atonement for his life in the bloody trade of the samurai. During the long war to overthrow the corrupt government, he was known throughout all Japan as the Hitokiri Battousai ("sword-bearing master assassin"). But the end of the war has brought no peace to Kenshin, despite a vow to draw his sword only for the protection of those in need. Now his wife Kaoru steadfastly awaits his return, mourning his absence as well as that of their son, Kenji. Will Kenshin return before she dies of grief? The past meets the present fifteen years after Kenshin first left.

Rurouni Kenshin Like many great epics, Rurouni Kenshin is a story of redemption and the road to recovery, as the main character starts from a low-point in his life and works his way back up. It all has to do with second chances, and people being able to change. Kenshin takes his life and does a complete 360; he goes from ruthless killer to cheerful commoner. He makes many friends and begins helping people in so many ways. It's a wonderful message to send to people: it's never too late to change.

Rurouni Kenshin manga, volume 28 (original version) In July of 2006, the Japanese publishers of Rurouni Kenshin released the kanzenban edition. Each kanzenban volume features a new cover, and there is a color panel inside the book that is new art as well. The kanzenban is slated to run 22 volumes (as opposed to the original 28 tankōbon each book will contain more chapters than the basic editions), with two coming out monthly. As a bonus, the kanzenban will include Yahiko no Sakabatō, an extra story that ran in Weekly Shonen Jump and was never collected into a book in Japan.
In Brazil, Rurouni Kenshin was published by "Editora JBC" in 56 volumes (each volume is a half of the original tankobon), maintaining its original Japanese manga reading format (from the top-right corner to the bottom-left corner of the book). Yahiko no Sakabato was released by the same publisher in July 10th of 2004, during an event that gathers anime, manga and games fans from all over Brazil called "Anime Friends", which is held every year in So Paulo. Kenshin Kaden, a Rurouni Kenshin encyclopedia was ... released by the same publisher in November of 2004.
Rurouni Kenshin is based in the Meiji era of Japan, after the Tokugawa regime had ended. A wandering swordsman, Himura Kenshin placed a vow never to kill again. During the Restoration period, Kenshin was known as the Hitokiri Battousai and carved the way into the new era, the Meiji era. During his journey, old rivalries continue to force him to return to his former self and break his oath, but he continues to fight for the belief that a sword can help to protect the innocent.Click here to submit a description!

Although the news is a little late, the Rurouni Kenshin volumes will be released in a 3-for-1 volume , where three of the volumes will be printed in one huge volume, for the price of 2 volumes. It supposedly will feature "new cover art" and ... all the color pages. Yay!
