Round shaped rugs soften a square angular space. The foyer can become a dramatic entry to a home with the right round rug. The first thing that a friend or guest sees when they enter your home is the rug. Placing a round rug in the space shows that you have put much thought in the rug’s selection and placement. The round dining room table or kitchen lends itself to being placed upon a fabulous round rug. A round coffee table is well suited to a round rug.

The craftsman movement was characterized by a high degree of interest in rugs. In fact, oftentimes rugs were designed for the house by the architect at the initial time of construction. Of course, this was mostly on the more expensive houses. Still, to really recreate an authentic craftsman look one needs to have a few hand made rugs displayed. Wall to wall carpeting is simply not going to make it. In fact, it seems laughable...or pathetic, at least in the main areas of house such as the great room, entry, and dining room. It is wise to give a lot of thought to design of the rug and how it will complement your existing decor. Furthermore, the design should reflect your own individual personality and allow you to infuse the home with vestiges of your own unique temperament.

Room sized rugs are sized to fill, or almost fill the complete floor space in a room. For a small room one of the larger area rugs may be suitable. For a larger room a piece of carpet can be cut to leave a border of between 12 and 18 inches between the carpet and the wall. The edges of the carpet can then be neatly finished off.

Schools are doing such things as setting aside scheduled prayer times, prayer room, foot baths, prayer rugs, etc. But some schools are not stopping there but requiring non-Muslims to adhere to the rules as well. Such as removing shoes, not crossing gender boundaries, and in some cases not letting the "infidels" access to the rooms at all.
