Rudy Giuliani Rudolph W. "Rudy" Giuliani was the New York City mayor who became internationally famous for his proudly defiant reaction to attacks on the World Trade Center on 11 September 2001. Giuliani, a 1968 graduate of New York University School of Law, began his political career in 1970 as a prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney. After a period in private practice in Washington, D.C. and a stint with Ronald Reagan's Department of Justice, Giuliani was appointed U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York in 1993. Aggressive and ambitious, he made headlines by prosecuting Wall Street wheeler-dealers such as Ivan Boesky, Michael Milken and Marc Rich. He ran for mayor in 1989 and lost, ran again in 1993 and won. In spite of a successful run as a tough-on-crime mayor who improved city government, Giuliani's troubled personal life and long history of political squabbles dominated the headlines in his second term.

Rudy Giuliani is in California today to accept the endorsement of former California Governor Pete Wilson, a move that should come as no surprise to anyone given Rudy's long history of divisive leadership. Wilson is probably best known for his divisive tactics like promoting Proposition 187 and Proposition 209 to "restrict benefits to illegal immigrants and to end affirmative action," strategies that have hurt the Republican Party in California for more than a decade. As one Republican pollster said, "California suffered since the mid-1990s" because of the fight over Proposition 187. Hispanic Republicans went so far as to urge President Bush not to campaign with Wilson in 2000. [Newsday, 9/27/07; Dallas Morning News, 9/24/07; Washington Post, 9/26/07]
Mayor Giuliani Upon graduation, Rudy Giuliani clerked for Judge Lloyd MacMahon, United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York. In 1970, Giuliani joined the office of the U.S. Attorney. At age 29, he was named Chief of the Narcotics Unit and rose to serve as executive US Attorney. In 1975, Giuliani was recruited to Washington, D.C., where he was named Associate Deputy Attorney General and chief of staff to the Deputy Attorney General. From 1977 to 1981, Giuliani returned to New York to practice law at Patterson, Belknap, Webb and Tyler.

While he talks about being tough on crime on the campaign trail, Rudy Giuliani continues to evade questions about his knowledge of Kerick's ethical problems. While Bernard Kerik was the Corrections Department Commissioner appointed by Giuliani, he accepted $165,000 in gifts from an allegedly mob-linked construction firm. Rudy Giuliani has not disputed evidence presented to a grand jury that he was briefed on Bernard Kerik's relationship with that company before Kerik's appointment as New York City police commissioner. Rudy Giuliani dressing as a woman Could Rudy be gay? Obviously, he has had three wives, so he`s obviously doing something with women… unless they`re beards. A `beard` is a term for a hollywood actor who is gay, but to hide the fact that he is gay, take a girlfriend or wife, ala Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, or Ed Koch and Bess Myerson. Could Judith Nathan, Rudy`s current wife, be a beard? That might explain why Giuliani`s previous marriages broke up. Maybe wife #2 Donna Hanover got tired of being a beard.
