This Rotary Piston Engine includes a separate chamber for receiving pressurized air and fuel. An air chamber stories pressurized air that is routed into a combustion chamber to be mixed with fuel for combustion to drive a piston. The combustion chamber is forced open during a firing cycle to allow expanding gases into a piston chamber. A valve door serves as a base against which the expanding gases react to force a piston in a forward direction.

The rotary combustion engine must not be confused with "rotary" aircraft engines which are piston cylinders arranged in a circle. The whole engine rotates. They came into vogue in the first World War.

A private inventor from West Poland offers a license agreement on a newly designed 4-stroke rotary piston engine. The engine was applied for protection in Poland and under PCT procedure (12.08.2004). Licensee from car (engine) industry is being sought.

Variation of detonation combustion studies are still limited to very few labs around the world, and a poor result with piston engine is fuelling exasperation and is quite confusing to the public. Similar radiation ignition and photo-detonation occur in high light intensity condition of chemical or nuclear bomb, and can be produced under control and study in confined chamber by modest power pulsed laser beam. Once photo-detonation gets engineering applications, Internet search engines will document it better!

Detonation research effort in piston engine goes on for years without yet any commercial promises. Research focuses towards finding possibilities and limitations of the HCCI engine, and specially towards how different parameters affect the engine performance and emissions, without much questioning the piston concept itself ? Quasiturbine opens the door to such a development by providing a much shorter pressure tip pulse machine, with faster linear raising and falling pressure ramps.
