Roselyn Sanchez has already acted in 20 movies and has been cast in the role of Maria in the Hollywood production Edison and in the role of Karen Lopez in the production of Underclassman , both due out in 2005. She is in the process of composing a musical about a singer/dancer/actress who leaves Puerto Rico to hit the big time in New York, in this she is going to play the principal part. She is preparing for her role in The Perfect Sleep, a neo-noir drama, where she is co-staring with Patrick Bauchau, Tony Amendola, Isaac Singleton, and Peter Lucas. Born on April 2, 1973 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Roselyn Sanchez studied at the University of Puerto Rico where she took up marketing. Eventually, she left school to pursue acting. She took some acting, dance and singing classes, and later landed a minor role in the film Captain Ron. Following this, she entered beauty pageants, winning the Miss Puerto Rico Petite contest, and gaining the international title of Miss America Petite. Her exposure in the limelight got her involved in modeling. She gained massive public attention as a dancer and co-host of the show “Que Vaxilon.” Shortly, she landed a spot on the show As the World Turns, as Pilar Domingo, which was her first English-speaking role ever.

Roselyn Sanchez was born on April 2nd, 1970 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She grew up there with her mother, father (a marketing businessman) and three older brothers. Despite a lifelong interest in the entertainment industry, Roselyn decided to study marketing at the University of Puerto Rico, in order to do what her brothers had not done -- namely, take over the family business.
