"Roseanne" was the first of ABC's family-realism sitcoms of the late '80s and '90s (to be followed by "Home Improvement" and "Grace Under Fire"). But Roseanne gave ABC a little more reality, perhaps, than it bargained for. Once she wrestled control of the show from its co-creator and producer, Matt Williams, Roseanne began incorporating bits of her tabloid-ready life into the show. Like its star, "Roseanne" was rough and loose and unpredictable, veering from intense kitchen-sink drama to boisterous comedy, usually within the same episode. "Roseanne" had good seasons and disappointing ones; it weathered personality clashes and accommodated cast members' personal needs (Sara Gilbert and Lecy Goransen's college careers, John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf's movie careers). Like a family, it went on.

Roseanne was an American television series which was shown on ABC from 1988 to 1997. It starred comedian Roseanne Barr. The series was about a working-class family living in fictional city of Lanford, Illinois. For many years, Roseanne was more truthful than other series of the time in how it showed family life. They dealt with tough subjects, for example poverty, alcoholism, narcotics, sex, first menstrual periods, masturbation, obesity, feminism, domestic violence, nudity and homosexuality. Another important thing in the series was Roseanne's control in raising her children.
Never at a loss for words, Roseanne Barr has a lot to say. Politics and religion are not taboo for Roseanne. In fact, they're just the beginning. Roseanne rants about the holidays, Britney Spears, fame, money, reality TV and parenthood. Best of all, Roseanne has solutions for all the world's problems.

Though a great and creative comedian, Roseanne Barr had an unstable element to her psyche when the show started. This instability subjected to over night fame and wealth and then becoming Tom Arnold's dominated meal ticket caused her to lose it, big time. Then in this damaged state she gained complete creative control, turning a great and once ground breaking show in to an unfocused disaster just like inside her own head.
As the season begins Roseanne (Roseanne Barr) and her husband Dan (John Goodman) are fighting. Dan is continuing to eat as much of anything he wants even though at the end of season eight he suffered a heart attack at the wedding of their middle child Darlene (Sara Gilbert). Roseanne is upset that given a second chance at life he is still so careless in his eating habits. Roseanne seeks solace from her mother Bev (Estelle Parsons) and her sister Jackie (Laurie Metcalf). Roseanne has left Dan and is staying at Jackie’s. Darleen and her husband David (Johnny Galecki) try to talk her into going back home without success.
Roseanne Barr Tickets Roseanne Bar tickets are available for the comedienne who coined the phrase "domestic goddess" in reference to the not-so-glamorous portrayal of the typical housewife. Secure comedy tickets for a night of sarcastic humor as Barr is back and ready to talk. You should see this show if you appreciate the antics of a confident woman with an opinion and determination to make people laugh.
