Rosalie Renfrew, an alumna, class of '57, [A]nd Russell's only niece, Godchild and namesake has been instrumental in putting together the collection and will be available during the reception for questions and interviews. The exhibition is on loan from the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame, who received donated items from the private collections of Ms. Joyce Wodka and Mr. William Balloun. On June 4th, what would have been Russell's 100th birthday, the Silas Bronson Library is hosting a celebration. The program will feature an official proclamation by the Honorable Michael J. Jarjura, an official book signing by Bernard F. Dick, author of, Forever Mame, the Life of Rosalind Russell, and a cake cutting. Once again, Rosalie Russell Renfrew, will be on attendance, this time as the guest of honor. She will reflect on her memories of her aunt and will be available for questions.

Russell died after a long battle with breast cancer in 1976 at the age of 69, although initially her age was misreported because she had shaved a few years off her true age. She was survived by her husband and son. She is buried in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Culver City, California.
