During a visit to Berlin the 26-year-old Romy met the 36-year-old German stage director Harry Meyen (Haubenstock). They married in 1966 and lived for a time in Berlin, where their son David Christopher was born. But by 1968 Romy was once again working in France, her adopted homeland. It was in France where she made the majority of her films. In the 1970s and '80s, Romy Schneider's name was better known there than in Austria or Germany. She was honored with the French “César” film award in 1976, 1979, and 1981.

Romy is a senior visualization specialist in the Visualization and Data Analysis (VDA) group. Prior to joining TACC in March 2006, she worked as a software developer at Magic Earth, a division of Landmark Graphics, and as a test software engineer for National Instruments. Romy has experience in a wide range of remote sensing techniques and data types from seismic imaging to multispectral and hyperspectral imaging in the visible to thermal infrared wavelengths.

Romy is a beautiful 18-year-old orphan (Sampolo) on the island of Ischia in the Bay of Naples. Scampolo works as a tourist guide on local boat cruises, and she soon gets involved with a down-and-out architect who has come to visit the island.
