Rollercoaster Tycoon: Rides
built 655 days ago
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3screenshot Unfortunately, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 managed to ship with a number of glaring bugs that can make your park feel a bit lifeless, even when there are hundreds of peeps roaming about. For example, popular rides that are hot one moment mystifyingly go suddenly ice cold the next, and even slashing prices to the bone can't seem to resurrect their appeal. Or sometimes you can have a park full of rides, yet few peeps seem interested in actually riding them even though there are no lines--those rides then become money pits that slowly drain your coffers. And in some cases, certain rides refuse to reset properly, meaning that your peeps will get stuck in line and complain. Shutting down and starting up the ride in question doesn't reset the ride, either.
RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 is the first proper sequel to the acclaimed RollerCoaster Tycoon. Though the sequel resembles the original, it contains new rides and construction options. The original RollerCoaster Tycoon spawned numerous clones, including the Roller Coaster Factory series. ~ Matthew House, All Game Guide

The main thing in the RollerCoaster Tycoon is once again the career mode, which takes you through 18 scenarios in which you are assigned with different tasks, from building a specific rollercoaster to tidying the whole place up. Although the goals are varied, the main premise always stays the same - you are given a "problematic" rollercoaster that you have to bring back to life. You will always do it by hiring staff members who will take care of everything and building a ride or two. With two fantastic rollercoasters and enough food and drink vendors, this should be no problem on the easiest difficulty setting. In case you're up for a bigger challenge, you can always try yourself on some of the higher difficulty settings. Completing scenarios on the most difficult, "tycoon" level will be required for unlocking additional scenarios.

The ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON® pinball machine is endorsed by A.C.E., the American Coaster Enthusiasts. This 8,500-member association brings together roller coaster riders from all over America and the world through the promotion of coaster riding tours, newsletters, and publicity events. A.C.E. members are so excited to see the new ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON®pinball machine that they will feature it in their newsletters and exhibit it at their booth at industry trade shows. To best understand how the ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON® pinball machine works, picture the ball on a ramp as you would a rider on a roller coaster. The playfield has 4 roller coasters, including “The Flying Ghost,” “The Flying Turns,” an inverted ramp coaster called “The Chicago Loop,” and the “The Rocket,” a coaster that blasts the ball almost to the playfield glass before sending it on a wild ride around the playfield.
Everything is on schedule for the September release of the Loopy Landscapes add-on pack for RollerCoaster Tycoon on PC CDROM. The pack will add 6 new styles of themeing and scenery, 30 new scenarios designed to challenge the player in many different ways, new types of roller coaster, rides, shops and stalls, and new ride music.
