Rohypnol is a sedative manufactured in Switzerland by Hoffman-La Roche; it is legally prescribed in 64 countries for the treatment of insomnia. Once ingested, its effects can be felt within twenty to thirty minutes, with the most dramatic effects showing up within one to two hours of ingestion. A 2mg. dose of Rohypnol can last for six to eight hours.When ingested in larger doses or in combination with alcohol, Rohypnol can produce memory impairment. Mixing Rohypnol with other drugs, including alcohol, can be life-threatening. Rohypnol can remain in an individual's body for up to seventy-two hours after ingestion.
