If a student at University of Notre Dame requests screening for Rohypnol, the lab in the student health center will send samples to Roche laboratories. Samples need to be collected within 24 hours of suspected intake. The test has a 14 day turnaround. The test will cost $50. They will conduct the tests between the hours of 8AM-5PM. After hours, students must go to St. Joseph Hospital, Emergency Services.

Castoria said it is difficult to determine if Rohypnol is used in rape cases since it does not stay in the body for a long period of time. A drug test has to be done within 48 hours, but even then, medical examiners may not know what drug to look for.

There is a urine test for Rohypnol. However, the drug can only be detected for up to 72 hours after ingestion. If you or a friend think you have been raped with Rohypnol, it is important to get a urine test as soon as possible. Rape crisis centers and the police are best equipped to handle any testing.
