7. Houston Astros
   The 2008 Houston Astros baseball schedule will be the start of a new era. Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio, two of the “Killer B’s,” have retired, and Cecil Cooper is the new manager of the ‘Stros. This team looks quite different from the one that went to the World Series in 2005, but they are still a contender to go back to the postseason this year. With Carlos Lee, Darin Erstad and Lance Berkman swinging the bats, the Astros will put plenty of runs on the board and the pitching staff led by Roy Oswalt should be solid. 8. Natalie Gulbis -- John Gulbis
   Gulbis, the only woman in the field, teamed with Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway, to win the 16th annual ADT Skills Challenge Monday, defeating the teams of Roger Clemens/Greg Norman, Bubba Watson/Dan Marino and Peter Jacobsen/Jerry Rice. Her shots won three out of the event's eight competitions early and Elway closed it out in the final skill by putting his short-iron within 3 feet, 7 inches. The event was staged at The Fairmont Turnberry Resort & Club in Aventura, Florida.
9. Astros -- Runs
   Astros prospect Yordany Ramirez, an outfielder who will likely start the year at Class AAA Round Rock, hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in Monday's 5-2 Licey win in the 2008 Caribbean Series. Ramirez ... drove in the first run of a 2-1 Licey win Tuesday.
10. Astros -- Houston Astros
    The Astros' opponent in their first ever World Series was the Chicago White Sox. Games 1 and 2 were held at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, while Games 3 and 4 were played at Minute Maid Park. Game 3 ... marked the first Fall Classic game to be played in the state of Texas, and was the longest game in World Series history, lasting 14 innings. Early conventional wisdom held that the White Sox were a slight favorite, but that Houston would be an even match. However, the Astros' situational hitting continued to plague them throughout the World Series. The White Sox swept the Astros in the best-of-seven series with a run differential of only six.
