"When you purchase servers, you want them to be fully utilized because you've already paid for them," says Malamut. Rockwell Collins has completed its acquisition of Salt Lake City, Utah-based Evans & Sutherland's visual simulation business. The $71.5M cash transaction includes simulation facilities in Salt Lake City, Orlando, and the United Kingdom. Rockwell said that approximately 200 former Evans & Sutherland employees have joined Rockwell Collins as part of the transaction. Evans & Sutherland developed hardware and software used by the military and commercial aerospace industry for simulation, training, and engineering. E&S has refocused on the planetarium and laser projector business.
