Rockwell Automation is the primary sponsor of #20 Joe Gibbs Racing Chevrolet in the NASCAR Busch Series driven by Denny Hamlin and Aric Almirola. In 2006, Rockwell Automation made two trips to victory lane in NASCAR's Busch Series at the inaugural race in Mexico City and at the spring race in Darlington. In 2007, Rockwell Automation again won the spring race in Darlington, the AT&T 250 at the Milwaukee Mile, and the Carfax 250 at the Michigan International Speedway in August of 2007. The Milwaukee win was not without some controversey as Almirola qualified the car and started the race, but was forced to get out of the car (while leading) by Joe Gibbs Racing , so Nextel Cup superstar Denny Hamlin could drive to the victory. This happened because Denny Hamlin, originally scheduled to drive the entire race, arrived late because his helicopter had no place to land. While the Joe Gibbs team was extremely happy with Almirola's driving, it is believed that they felt they owed it to Rockwell to put Hamlin in the car, since the race was at Rockwell's "home track."
Rockwell Automation is a motor manufacturing company in Flowery Branch, Georgia. Rockwell has been operating at their current facilities for over 20 years. The building was still meeting their manufacturing needs... their air conditioning system was over 20 years old and in desperate need of replacement. The facility used 14 roof top units for cooling the building. The units are expensive to remove and replace. With the high cost, Rockwell Automation executives knew their budget wouldn’t allow them to replace all 14 units at one time.
Rockwell Automation has been actively investing in its software business for the past five years. A number of acquisitions (including Datasweep and Propack Data) and a newly developed service-oriented architecture form the basis of Rockwell’s FactoryTalk manufacturing operations management solution, which addresses multiple industries, mostly in discrete or batch manufacturing. Rockwell Automation’s planned acquisition of Pavilion technologies would add a key and highly capable advanced process control (APC) solution set to its portfolio. This would immediately increase Rockwell Automation’s credibility in the process industries and support growth in its marketing operations management solutions for process industries. Pavilion's expertise in environmental management will ... add some worthy “green” credentials.

Rockwell Automation is named for Willard Rockwell, an engineer who created Wisconsin Parts Co. in Oshkosh in 1919, producing worm drives and double-reduction axles. But the company’s roots go back to the 1880 incorporation of Dodge Manufacturing Co., a producer of wood hardware specialties. Reliance Electric bought Dodge in 1967 and Rockwell Automation bought Reliance in 1995.
Rockwell Automation is known as "COCKWELL" among the employees at the Twinsburg, Ohio Facility. Why? They have been screwed so many time in the last ten years by the money grubbers. The question isn't when will they do it again - it's what will they do next? The benefits cuts have been many, from pay raises to insurance and EVERYTHING in between.
