1. Rocking Chair -- Rockers
   Rockers: The main component of a rocking chair is its rocker. This curved base is what is responsible for the swaying motion of the chairs. The rockers have to be designed and built with great care so that a smooth rocking motion is achieved, but at the same time there is no danger of the chair tipping over. Rockers can be a little dangerous as there is scope for peoples’ feet or toes getting crushed underneath. However, many current designs incorporate the use of springs which helps to negate this danger. Sincethis isthe most essential feature in a rocking chair, the chair is often referred to as a rocker as well.

   Rocking chairs are enduring symbols of age and wisdom. Rocking chairs were a fixture of homes in the old days because many of the old people then led active lives and the rocker was their reward for their hard toil. It was probably around the ‘80s when the rocker lost its significance, as many of the old people at that time we’re living their lives a lot different from the old people of the old days. A lot of old people now are living active lives, thanks to the advances in medicine and the growing awareness for health and well-being which reached a certain maturity at that time. Whereas old people of old times spent their remaining days at home, providing wise counsel to their children’s families, old people nowadays are living their remaining years with a whole lot of activities. Thanks to old age communities, old people who can still live their lives actively are finding new opportunities for socializing.
3. Sammy Hagar -- Red Rocker
   Hagar commenced a solo recording and touring career to increasing success. After moderate success on Capitol Records, with such albums as Nine on a Ten Scale and hits such as Red, Hagar made some personnel changes, including enlisting long time friend and former Justice Brothers bandmate David Lauser as his drummer. With these changes, and a change to Geffen Records, Hagar enjoyed hits such as "Heavy Metal", "Three Lock Box", and perhaps his best-known song "I Can't Drive 55", a gripe against the federally-imposed speed limit of 55 miles per hour (88 km/h) on all U.S. highways. (The limit was increased on certain roads in 1987, and the law repealed in 1995; the song was updated for NASCAR broadcasts on NBC in 2001 to 65, and is used in NHL Rivals 2004.) During this time, his frequent appearance in his red attire in videos and in concert would lead up to his given trademark nickname of "The Red Rocker".
4. Carey Hart -- Rocker Pink
   Looks like the rampant rumors were correct: Pink and her husband of two years, Carey Hart, have decided to divorce. Pink’s rep, Michele Schweitzer, said the singer and the motorcross star recently decided to make the difficult decision to separate.
5. Kid Rock -- Rocker Kid Rock
   Pamela Anderson is over the moon that Kid Rock has proposed to her, according to her publicist. Pam, 34, is set to tie the knot for the second time with 31-year-old Rock, real name Bob Ritchie, after he proposed on Thursday night outdoors in the Las Vegas desert. Publicist Marleah Leslie confirms that Rock gave Pammy a ring although no date has been set, adding, "She's elated." The couple began dating in April 2001 when they met backstage at VH1's diva salute to Aretha Franklin at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. It will be the second marriage for the pneumatic blonde, who is locked in a nasty child custody battle over sons Brandon and Dylan with rocker Tommy Lee. Rock has a young son whom he raises with the help of his sister in northern Michigan, but he's never been married.

9. Rocking Chairs -- Cushions
   Rocking chairs are a tried and true nursery staple. They offer a comfortable place to sit with the ability to gently rock your baby when they need to relax. Traditional rocking chairs are solid hardwood with turned spindles, carved seats, and curved skis. The skis create the rocking movement when you gently push against the floor with your feet. If you don’t want to sit directly on a hard surface or feel spindles on your back, use a cushion. A cushion tied to the back and seat of the rocking chair can give you a little extra padding.
