built 285 days ago
Young Roberto, Age 2 Roberto Rodriguez (Ro-beer-too Road-ree-guise) aka "The Rebel Rhiannon Rogue Rocket Racer" was born in a small town outside of Mexico City. As soon as he was born he was given a hand shotgun from his father Rodrigo and told to kill the nearest drug lord in sight. He continued this life of violence until the age of 10 when he met Quentin Tarantino in a small mexican pub. QT bought a round of shots for the young Roberto and the two were instant friends. They gunned down the place and headed for Nashville Tennesee where they would remain until the age of 24 to study the ancient art of Ninjew.
Robert Rodriguez Robert Anthony Rodriguez was born on June 20, 1968, in San Antonio, Texas. Robert’s passion for cinema was seemingly born in 1981, after the young boy sat through a screening of John Carpenter’s classic cult hit Escape From New York. It was around that time that Robert began experimenting with his family’s Super 8 camera, using his nine brothers and sisters as his cast and crew. By the time his father brought home a VCR and accompanying camera, Robert considered himself a full-blown filmmaker.

In a short amount of time, young Robert finds the family's old Super-8 film camera and makes his first films. The genres are unlimited: action, sci-fi, horror, drama, stop-motion animation. He uses props from around the house, settings from around town, and makes use of the largest cast and crew at his disposal: his family. At the end of the decade, his father, a salesman, brings home the latest home-made technological wonder: a VCR, and with it (as a gift from the manufacturer) a video camera.

Rodriguez began his interest in film at age 7 when his father bought one of the first VCRs, which came with a camera. He took the camera and started to make short films with his brothers and sisters participating as the cast and crew. It helped that there were ten of them (including Robert) and that these early stages provided the crucial groundwork that would lead to Rodriguez's development as a filmmaker.
