Robert Reed: Miscellaneous
built 277 days ago
Robert L. Reed makes beautiful music and his feet are his instruments. His high-powered act includes acrobatic tricks, acrobatic tap, soft shoe, tacit tap, cane twirling, comedy, and song and dance.

Florence Henderson recalled the time they were shooting a scene where Reed was supposed to be getting stuff out of the refrigerator. The script called for him to drop an egg and slip on it. Reed said that it was total nonsense, and it would never work. Florence told him, "Before you shoot something down, try it". So when Reed finally went through with the scene, he actually dropped an egg and took a fall.

Reed is one of the most prolific genre short-fiction writers, with over a hundred and forty published stories. His works regularly appear in Asimov's, Fantasy & Science Fiction, and Sci Fiction. He has ... published eleven novels.
Robert Zemeckis ("Back to the Future") has agreed to direct "Beowulf." Based on the 6th century heroic poem about the Scandinavian warrior who fights the monster Grendel (as well as Grendel's equally monstrous mother and a dragon), the film has been in development for several years. Zemeckis will work from a script by Neil Gaiman ("Sandman") and Quentin Tarantino collaborator Roger Avary ("Pulp Fiction").

reed11.jpg (19737 bytes) This is a picture of Nanny, as Emma Reed was known to all her grandchildren, and most of those grandchildren. We had many wonderful summertime reunions at her house in Long Beach, MS. That's me, Jill, on the far left. I have left this image as a thumbnail as it is too large for regular viewing even though it is not clear. Those who wish to may click on it and see a large version with numbers superimposed on each person. I have listed each person by number below and ask that if anyone finds a mistake to please let me know. My mother, Wenonah, and Aunt Dee Dee, numbered these for us.
Reed is a stylist. Claiming to have no influences in the SF canon, the Nebraska-based author is very much and individual voice, although there are echoes of Simak in some of his early work.
