Robert Montgomery began his acting career on the New York stage in the early 1920s, and quickly became an established Broadway performer. He joined the exodus of actors from the Broadway stage to the Hollywood studios when sound revolutionized the American motion picture industry in 1929.

Elizabeth Montgomery was born April 15, 1933 in Los Angeles, the daughter of screen actor Robert Montgomery and former stage actress Elizabeth Allen. She and her younger brother Skip were raised in Hollywood, but mostly kept from the glare of the spotlight.

Montgomery has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one for movies at 6440 Hollywood Blvd., and one for television at 1631 Vine Street. He was a longtime summer resident of North Haven, Maine.
