Robert Goulet: Carol Lawrence

Famous for his deep baritone and his dark moustache, Goulet was born in Lawrence, MA, in 1933 to French-Canadian parents and began singing and performing as a child. He first gained fame playing Lancelot in a Broadway production of Camelot in 1960, opposite RICHARD BURTON and JULIE ANDREWS. He would go on to receive a Tony for his performance in 1968's Happy Time.

The only son of French-Canadian parents, Goulet was born in Lawrence, Mass. After his father died, his mother moved the family to Canada when the future star was about 13. He received vocal training at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto but decided opera wasn't for him.

Goulet was married to his third wife, Vera Novak, for 25 years at the time of his death. He was previously married to Louis Longmore and to actress Carol Lawrence. He has one daughter with Longmore and two sons with Lawrence.
