built 191 days ago
When she got out of her car, Robert Blake came over and gave her a long hug, the top of his head just below her nose. His hooves were long and shiny.

Blake was one of thirteen siblings born to a merchant in Bridgwater, Somerset, where he attended Bridgwater Grammar School For Boys. After attending Wadham College, Oxford, he had hoped to follow an academic career, but failed to secure a fellowship to Merton College, probably because of his political and religious views. Having returned to Bridgwater, probably because of the death of his mother in 1638, he decided to stand for election to Parliament.

In October, Blake attacked Sir George Carteret's stronghold at Elizabeth Castle on Jersey, which surrendered in December after a fifty-day siege.

Smith may consider Blake to be too timid, and Blake may feel that Smith lacks prudence. There are ... many situations where Smith is more stubborn and persevering than Blake.
