The 2005 Australian Open saw some great action as Robert Allenby limped to his first-place after a one-shot win after fighting an injury to the nerves in a finger on his right hand during the last round. Allenby fell to a last round of 77 after begining the day with a 5-shot lead. With this bad final round score, he still finished four-under par over the tournament to pick up the first place purse of $225,000.
Chad Campbell nearly holed out two shots and only came close to a bogey once in a round of 6-under 65 that gave him a three-shot lead over Robert Allenby in the Nissan Open Friday. The second round of the event was delayed four hours by rain and will be completed Saturday.
